Install it as an app
In shortInstall Clarity CDM Academy once and it opens in its own window, with its own icon on your taskbar or home screen, like any other app. Nothing from your course is kept on the device: it always needs a connection.
On a PC: Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
Press Install the app on the green banner (on My courses, or above), then Install in the box your browser shows. If there is no banner, use the browser’s menu (⋮ or …) and choose Install Clarity CDM Academy, or the small install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar.
Pin it to your taskbar
A website cannot pin itself. Once installed, right-click the Academy’s icon in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen and choose Pin to taskbar. In Edge you can simply tick Pin to taskbar in the box it shows when installing. It is in the Start menu as well.
On a Mac
In Safari choose File → Add to Dock, then Add. In Chrome or Edge, use the install button as on a PC.
On an iPad or iPhone
In Safari tap Share (the square with an arrow pointing up), then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Firefox
Firefox cannot install a site as an app. Open the Academy in Chrome or Edge instead.
New versions
When a new version of Clarity CDM Academy goes live, a green strip at the top of the page says so with a Reload now button. Press it and you are on the new version; nothing you were doing is lost, because your exam answers are saved as you type.
Offline
If the connection drops, the app shows a You're offline page instead of the browser's own error. Nothing from your course is stored on the device, so there is nothing to read until you are back online. In an exam the clock keeps running on the server, so get back online and press Return to your exam.
