Before you start

The course page shows the exam's size: how many questions, how many marks, how many minutes, and the pass mark. Below that it says what you need to do before it opens, if anything: usually Finish all the modules first. Give yourself the full time in one sitting, because the clock does not pause.

Sitting it

1. Press Start the exam and confirm. The timer starts that second.
2. The brief (the scenario and any documents the questions are about) sits beside the questions. On a phone it is above them.
3. Answer the questions. Multiple choice: pick one. Numbers: type the number. Written answers: type in the box; the counter shows how much room is left.
4. Your answers are saved in this browser as you type, so if the page is refreshed by accident they come back.
5. Press Submit answers when you are done. If the clock reaches zero first, the exam submits itself with whatever you have written.

If you close the page by mistake, go back to the course page and press Return to your exam; the clock will still be running.

How it is marked

• Numbers and multiple choice are marked by the computer the moment you submit.
• Written answers are marked against a marking guide by an automatic marker, which writes a line of feedback for each.

The result page shows your score and the feedback. While marking is still going on it refreshes itself. You never see the model answers or the marking guide, only the feedback.

Passing and not passing

Reach the pass mark and your certificate is issued and the course's PDF pack appears in Downloads. Under the pass mark, you can try again straight away, as many times as you need. It pays to go back over the modules you lost marks on first. Every attempt is listed on the course page, and you can open any of them.
