Courses
CDM 2015 training online: one person, one course, at your own pace, with a Certificate of Achievement anyone can check.
Clarity CDM Academy teaches the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 one role at a time. Each course is written for a single dutyholder - principal contractor first, with clients, principal designers, designers, contractors and workers to follow - and explains that role's duties in plain words, with the regulation numbers beside them and one invented project running through every module.
Courses come in two sizes. An Introductory course (4 hours) is an overview of the role for the people who hold it and for everyone who works with them. A Full course (8 hours) goes into the role in depth and ends with a practical piece. Every module closes with a short interactive check; every course ends with a timed exam.
Pass the exam and you receive a role-named Certificate of Achievement, signed and verifiable online, stating the hours it may be recorded as structured CPD. Certificates are valid for three years, and your course access runs for the same period. Learn at your own pace; your place is saved between visits.

CDM 2015 for Principal Contractors - Introductory Course
Who it is for
Anyone who needs to understand what a principal contractor is and does under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015: contractors stepping into the role for the first time, site managers and supervisors, clients and their advisers who appoint and work with a principal contractor, principal designers and designers who liaise with one, and people in estates, facilities or project management who want the role explained in plain words. It assumes only a basic idea of what CDM 2015 is; it does not teach how to run a site day to day (that is the Full course).
Seven short modules and a 30-minute exam that explain the principal contractor's role from the appointment letter to the handover, using one invented project throughout. You leave able to say when a principal contractor is needed, what it must do before and during the construction phase, how the health and safety file works, and what happens when it goes wrong.
May be recorded as 4 hours of structured CPD (self-declared).

CDM 2015 for Principal Contractors - Full Course
Who it is for
Site managers, contracts managers, project managers and directors of contracting firms who are, or are about to be, appointed principal contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and have to run the construction phase themselves - from the appointment letter to the handover. It also suits health and safety advisers who support a principal contractor and the people a client relies on to check one. This is the how-to course: it goes into the regulations, the HSE guidance and the documents in depth, and you draft a real set of project documents as you go. You need only a basic idea of what CDM 2015 is; the Introductory course is not required. It covers the law in Great Britain and does not cover environmental management beyond one screen on waste.
Fourteen modules, a 40-question exam and an AI-marked practical take you through running one invented project - an occupied office extension with a basement dig, a scaffold, a crane lift and a public footpath - from accepting the appointment to handing over the file. You draft the project's documents module by module and finish by writing part of its construction phase plan. Pass, and you can run a site as a principal contractor.
May be recorded as 8 hours of structured CPD (self-declared).
