Clarity-OO Ltd — Clarity CDM Academy: cookies — version 2026-11-02.1
1. The one cookie we set
| Name | What it does | How long | Consent? |
|---|---|---|---|
cdma_session (shown as __Host-cdma_session in your browser) |
Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it you could not take a course | Until you sign out, or it expires on its own after a period of no use | Not needed. It is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for (Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, regulation 6(4)) |
It holds a random reference and nothing about you. It is sent only over an encrypted connection and only to academy.cdm2015.co.uk.
2. Your browser's own storage
These things are kept in your browser's storage on your own device, not in a cookie. We never read them from our server:
| Name in your browser | What it keeps |
|---|---|
answers-… and timer-… |
A copy of your exam answers and the exam clock while you sit an exam, so that a page refresh does not lose them. Cleared when the exam is submitted |
cdma-step-… and cdma-read-all |
Your place in each lesson, and whether you read lessons step by step or as one page |
cdma-elapsed-… |
The lesson study timer, used only when the figure our server keeps is not to hand |
cdma-notebook |
Whether the notes panel is open on a wide screen |
cdma-quiz-… |
Your answers to a lesson's practice questions, so they are still there when you come back to the step |
cdma-install-later and cdma-pin-tip-done |
Whether you dismissed the "install as an app" card, and that its one-time tip has been shown |
If you install the Academy as an app, your browser also keeps a copy of the app's own files (styles, scripts, the offline page) so it opens quickly. It holds nothing about you.
All of these are strictly necessary for what you are doing, and need no consent.
3. What we do not do
- No analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or anything like it on the Academy.
- No advertising cookies. Nothing tracks you across other websites.
- No consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to. If we ever add analytics, we will ask first with a banner where Reject is as easy as Accept, and this page will change.
4. Other sites you will visit
- Stripe (checkout.stripe.com), where you pay, is Stripe's own site and sets Stripe's own cookies for fraud prevention and to run its checkout. See stripe.com/privacy.
- Our CDM 2015 website (www.cdm2015.co.uk), where courses are listed, has its own cookie banner and cookie settings. They do not affect the Academy.
5. Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the Academy's cookie you will not be able to sign in.
Our privacy notice (section 5) says more about cookies and about everything else we hold. Questions: support@clarity-oo.com.
